8th Annual Meeting of the GTFCC Working Group on WASH

March 21, 2023, Hybrid event

Summary

The 8th Annual Meeting of the GTFCC Working Group on WASH took place on March 21, 2023 in hybrid format.

Objectives

The objectives of the meeting were to:

  • Review of 2022 Working Group on WASH activities
  • Review and validate the Working Group on WASH workplan 2023
  • Prepare for the UN Water Conference (March 22-24, 2023)
  • Strategic discussions on selected topics

A closed session was held in New York during the UN Water Conference.

This year, the GTFCC did not have the financial support needed for an in-person meeting, so it was decided to:

  • Use the opportunity of the UN Water Conference scheduled on March 22-24, 2023 in New York city to propose Wash TWG partners who are participating in the UNWC to meet in person for a series of technical working sessions (held in person only on Monday 20th March and Tuesday 21st afternoon) and for which recommendations will be reported on at the hybrid Wash Annual Meeting.
  • Hold a hybrid Wash TWG Annual Meeting, smaller than usual, focusing on reviewing 2022 activities and the way forward for 2023 – it will be held on Tuesday 21st March from 9 to 12pm NYC time (2-5pm CET).
