5th Annual Meeting of the Global Task Force on Cholera Control (GTFCC)

Summary

Following the launch of the Ending Cholera – A Global Roadmap to 2030 in October 2017, the meeting was an opportunity to present an update on GTFCC activities in the last 12 months and discuss how the GTFCC can best support countries in the implementation of the roadmap. Specifically, the proposed objectives of the meeting were to:

  • Review the activities of the GTFCC and its working groups in the last 12 months
  • Provide an update on the implementation of recommendations from the independent review of the GTFCC conducted in 2017 and agree on the way forward
  • Present an update on cholera control activities in countries and opportunities for support to be provided by the GTFCC
  • Present and discuss the advocacy and resource mobilisation strategy for cholera and agree on the way forward
