Events / June 9 - 11, 2025 - Virtual event
Back to all eventsThe 10th Annual WASH Working Group Meeting was held virtually over three days, from June 9 to 11, 2025, bringing together over 45 participants who actively contributed to the presentations and discussions.
The first two days focused on ongoing publications, several of which are expected to be finalized shortly. These include topics such as Water Quality Monitoring, WASH response during a cholera outbreak, WASH and IPC in health structures, WASH and OCV, Care for the Dead, and the use of Cholera and WASH data.
Day two also included discussions on the group’s ways of working and internal governance mechanisms, along with presentations on the new GTFCC website and updates from the GTFCC research workstream.
On the third day, the meeting shifted to more strategic discussions. Participants reviewed the implementation of key recommendations from the GTFCC mid-term review, which emphasized the need to strengthen WASH activities in cholera response. This was followed by a debate on the role of the WASH Working Group in contributing to global advocacy strategies, with a focus on supporting national and regional efforts.
As a next step, the WASH Working Group, in collaboration with the GTFCC Secretariat, will develop an advocacy strategy to be further discussed during the next quarterly meeting.
The WASH Working Group is committed to reinforcing its leadership and is actively encouraging individuals and organizations, particularly those based in cholera-endemic or epidemic-prone countries, to join and contribute to its work.
